Marchant Recruitment is partnering with a leading Manchester school to recruit an experienced Finance Officer who will maintain robust financial controls and support school administration. The role involves managing purchase and sales ledgers, budgeting support, bank reconciliations, reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

You will work closely with the School Business Manager and senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a finance, accounting, or bookkeeping role.
• Experience in a school or education setting is advantageous.
• Strong proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent organisational, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day financial operations including purchase ledger, sales ledger, and invoicing.
• Assist with budget preparation, financial monitoring, and reporting.
• Perform bank reconciliations and manage petty cash records.
• Collaborate with the School Business Manager and senior leadership on financial administration.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, audits, and school policies.
