Job summary

New Collaborative Learning Trust in Pontefract is seeking a Finance Officer to support management accounts, month-end processes and financial reporting. You'll work with the Finance Manager to handle accruals, reconciliations, cashflow forecasts and supplier payments, while developing your technical knowledge and taking on greater responsibility over time.

Qualifications

• Relevant finance qualification such as AAT Level 2, 3 or 4.
• Experience with financial information, income and budgets.
• Able to manage own workload to meet month-end deadlines.
• Experience in education is not required.
• Experience with VAT and HMRC regulations is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist monthly management accounts and balance-sheet reconciliations.

Looking to take the next step in your finance career?

Join New Collaborative Learning Trust (NCLT) as a Finance Officer and gain broad, hands-on experience across management accounts, month-end processes, reconciliations and financial reporting. You'll join a supportive finance team where you can build your technical knowledge, take on increasing responsibility and continue your professional development.

Working closely with the Finance Manager, you'll support financial activity across our secondary schools. Your work will include assisting with monthly management accounts, processing accruals, prepayments and journals, completing balance-sheet and bank reconciliations, maintaining cashflow forecasts and monitoring income and expenditure.

You'll also support supplier payment runs, invoicing, sales and trip reconciliations and other financial processes.

It's a varied role that offers considerably more than routine finance administration and provides an excellent opportunity to broaden your experience as your knowledge and confidence develop.

About you

You'll hold, or be working towards, a relevant finance qualification such as AAT Level 2, 3 or 4 and have experience of working with financial information, income, expenditure and budgets.

You'll be confident working accurately with numbers, able to analyse financial information and comfortable managing your own workload to meet month-end deadlines. Strong organisation, attention to detail and communication skills will also be important.

You don't need previous experience of working in education. We welcome applications from finance professionals in other sectors who can bring strong financial administration, analytical and organisational skills.

Experience of integrated accounting systems, supporting budget holders or knowledge of areas such as VAT and HMRC regulations would be advantageous.
