Place Partnership in Wakefield is seeking a Finance Assistant to join the Shared Services Finance Team. You will provide essential transactional finance support, including purchase ledger administration, payment processing, and cashback management, helping ensure timely financial services across the Trust.

You'll work with the Senior Finance Officer to prepare reports, maintain records, and resolve finance queries.

Qualifications

  • GCSE level (or equivalent) including English and Maths.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software.
  • Experience with financial procedures, systems and processes.
  • Ability to work accurately, efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Strong ICT literacy and ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Excellent numerical, communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team with confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Provide transactional finance support across the Trust, including purchase ledger administration and payment processing.
  • Manage cashback payments and routine reconciliations; prepare financial reports and schedules for review.
  • Maintain accurate administrative and audit records; contribute to process improvements in financial procedures.

Job description

Place Partnership areseeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Finance Assistant to provideessential support to our Shared Services Finance Team based in the West Hub(Wakefield.) This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to thedelivery of high-quality financial services across the Trust, while workingclosely with academies and a range of stakeholders.

The successful candidate willwork collaboratively with the Senior Finance Officer to provide comprehensivefinancial support across the Trust. They will be responsible for ensuring theaccurate and timely delivery of transactional finance services, includingpurchase ledger administration, payment processing, and cashback management.The postholder will also undertake routine reconciliations, prepare financial reportsand schedules for review, and maintain accurate administrative and auditrecords. In addition, they will provide first-line support for resolvingtransactional finance queries and contribute to the continuous improvement offinancial processes and procedures.

The ideal candidate will bea proactive, adaptable, and collaborative team player, capable of managing avaried workload, prioritising competing demands, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. They will possess excellent organisational and communicationskills, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering accurate,high-quality financial support.

Experience of working withfinancial systems and processes is desirable, together with a willingness tolearn and contribute positively to the ongoing success of the finance team.

This is a full-time,permanent position, working Monday to Thursday, 8:00am to 4:00pm, and Friday,8:00am to 3:30pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break each day.
