Job description

Part-Time Finance Officer at St Luke’s RC Primary School

The Governors of St Luke’s RC Primary School are seeking a dedicated and highly organized Part-Time Finance Officer to support our school's financial operations. St Luke’s is a vibrant Catholic family school committed to providing an inclusive and nurturing environment where students can grow academically, spiritually, and socially.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate financial records, including budgeting, reporting, and forecasting.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and reports for school leadership and the governing board.
  • Process and manage orders, invoices, payments, and receipts.
  • Monitor school accounts to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Assist with payroll processing and employee benefits management.
  • Support the annual audit process and collaborate with external auditors.
  • Provide financial advice and support to staff and parents as needed.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in finance, accounting, or related fields, preferably in education or not-for-profit sectors.
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • A commitment to the values of Catholic education and the school's mission.
Working Hours:

This is a part-time role requiring approximately 15 hours per week with flexible working hours.
