Job description

The Governors of St Luke’s RC Primary School wish to appoint a dedicated finance officer. St Luke’s RC is a vibrant Catholic family school committed to providing an inclusive and nurturing environment for students to grow academically, spiritually, and socially. We are seeking a dedicated and highly organised Part-Time Finance Officer to join our team and help support the financial operations of the school.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate financial records for the school, including budgeting, reporting, and forecasting.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports for school leadership and the governing board.
  • Process and manage orders, invoices, payments, and receipts.
  • Monitor school accounts, ensuring compliance with relevant financial policies and procedures.
  • Assist with payroll processing and employee benefits management.
  • Support the annual audit and work closely with external auditors.
  • Provide financial support and advice to staff and parents as required.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in finance, accounting, or a related field, preferably in an educational or not-for-profit environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • A commitment to the values of Catholic education and the mission of the school.
Working Hours:

This is a part-time role with flexible working hours, requiring approximately 15 hours per week.
