Job summary

Stephenson Academy in Milton Keynes is seeking a Finance Officer on a 6-month FTC to oversee budgets across academies, monitor spending and support procurement activities.

The role involves monthly reporting, ensuring purchasing guidelines are followed, maintaining contract files and liaising with Premises and Operations to align with estates, assets, and IT. Closing date 21 October 2026; interviews 26 October 2026.

Responsibilities

• Support Academies with budget monitoring, purchasing and procurement, monthly reporting.
• Ensure the Academy adheres to purchasing guidelines, administer support for new accounts and ensure contract file is maintained.
• Liaise with Premises and Operations team to ensure compliance with Estates management, Fixed assets, procurement and IT
• Provide training and support to school staff on financial procedures and systems to enhance the financial skills of Academy staff as appropriate.
• Working within Stephenson Academy, you will be working as part of the team, creating a vital link between the academy and trust to ensure that we effectively manage and support Stephenson Academies growth and success.

Finance Officer - 6 month FTC

Salary - Range 3, £31,525- £33,672 (FTE)

(Working Hours - 37 hours per week / 42 weeks per year (TTO + 3 weeks)

The successful candidate will -

Support Academies with budget monitoring, purchasing and procurement, monthly reporting, ensuring financial decisions align with the Trust’s strategic goals.

Ensure the Academy adheres to purchasing guidelines, administer support for new accounts and ensure contract file is maintained.
