This is a great opportunity to join our Finance team as a Finance Officer and contribute to the effective delivery of financial services, taking specific responsibility for services in accounting terms and providing technical advice in relation to the areas.
Maidstone’s finances have been well managed, and this has given us a sound financial foundation to support the strategic priority of our new Cabinet. We will also support the continued drive for value for money in our services, and that capital investment supports our long-term financial position.
This post requires strong working relationships to be developed and maintained with the finance team, service users and budget holders. The post requires daily contact and consultation with a very wide range of stakeholders of service users.

This post is being offered at Grade 7. As part of the career grade 7-9, there may be the potential to develop though the career grade in the future.
This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week on a permanent contract. This is a hybrid working role with home working and the expectation to attend the office at least 1 day per week.

You will be a qualified Accounting Technician (or have the equivalent experience) with the ambition to develop your professional skills further.
You will be a team player with experience of working in a local government finance environment.
Additionally, you will have excellent time management, problem-solving and IT skills.
We do encourage hybrid working but to facilitate working better as a team you will be expected to attend the office for one day each week.
