Job summary

Meraki Talent is supporting the permanent appointment of a Finance Officer in Glasgow, offering a salary up to £34,000 along with an excellent benefits package.

The role covers day-to-day finance activities, maintaining accurate records and strong controls within a values-led non-profit environment. You will manage AP/AR, bank and supplier reconciliations, and contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Non-profit sector experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong reconciliation and credit control experience.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with finance systems.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Able to work as part of a collaborative finance team.

Responsibilities

  • Own accounts payable processes including invoices, payments, POs.
  • Own accounts receivable processes including allocations and debt escalation.
  • Daily processing of financial transactions.
  • Supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Bank reconciliations.
  • Credit control via telephone, email, and letter.
  • Improve finance processes, controls, and systems.
  • Build relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

Meraki Talent are supporting with the permanent appointment of a Finance Officer based in Glasgow, offering a salary of up to £34,000 alongside an excellent benefits package.

The Role

The position of Finance Officer will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the finance function, supporting the organisation across a broad range of transactional finance activities while ensuring accurate financial records and strong financial controls.

The key components of the role include:

  • Ownership of the accounts payable process, including invoice processing, payment runs, purchase order creation and matching.
  • Ownership of the accounts receivable process, including invoice allocation, cash allocation and debt escalation.
  • Daily processing and management of financial transactions.
  • Supplier statement management and reconciliations.
  • Bank account management and reconciliations.
  • Credit control through telephone, email and written correspondence.
  • Supporting and improving finance processes, procedures, controls and systems.
  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Candidate Profile

We are keen to engage candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • Previous experience within a finance role covering both accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Non-profit sector experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong reconciliation and credit control experience.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience using a variety of finance systems.
  • A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing as part of a collaborative finance team.
