Job summary

Accent Housing Group in Bradford is seeking a Finance Officer to join the Finance team on a hybrid basis. The role offers a circa £32,000 annual salary and 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, with office presence about once a month.

You will support service charge budgets, forecasts and year-end accounts, maintain data accuracy, and collaborate with the team to deliver timely financial insights for customers and the business.

Qualifications

• Hands on experience of accounting and financial principles (month end processes, forecasting, budget setting).
• Experience with finance systems and working with financial data.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including large datasets and data manipulation.
• Strong reporting and analytical skills with data accuracy.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the preparation of service charge budgets, forecasts and year-end accounts.

• Producing customer communications and financial information with a high level of accuracy.

• Working closely with the Service Charge Accountant and wider Finance team to deliver excellent customer outcomes.
• Contributing to continuous improvements in systems, processes and reporting.

What You'll Be Doing

Salary

The spot salary for the Finance Officer post is Circa £32,000 per annum for applicants who fully meet the requirements of the post. If you're still developing some of the skills or experience, you can start at a salary 5% or 10% below the spot rate, with clear support and progression opportunities to reach the full amount.

About you

• Hands on experience of accounting and financial principles e.g. month end processes, forecasting, budget setting etc.
• Experience using finance systems and working with financial data.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including experience working with formulas, large datasets and data manipulation.
• Strong reporting and analytical skills, with the ability to identify trends, investigate discrepancies and ensure data accuracy.
• A high level of attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively to strict deadlines
• Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships
• Part-qualified in a relevant accounting qualification (or actively working towards qualification)
