Job summary

The CFO HQ in Oxfordshire is seeking a Finance Manager to run the finance function for a 12-month maternity cover, overseeing month-end, reporting to the Divisional Finance Director, and guiding the migration from Sage 50 to Xero with Simpro integration.

You will develop processes, drive improvements, manage payroll and VAT, and partner with MDs and group finance to deliver timely management accounts and clear financial insight.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or part-qualified with substantial equivalent experience.
• Proven experience running the full finance function of an SME.
• Hands-on experience with a finance system migration or implementation (Xero).
• Track record of improving processes, controls and month-end reporting speed.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to work with operational data; payroll, VAT and credit control experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the finance workstream during migration from Sage 50 to Xero, with data validation and process documentation.
• Act as finance lead on Simpro ERP implementation, ensuring integration with Xero for job costing, billing, purchasing and stock.
• Redesign core finance processes (purchase-to-pay, order-to-cash, payroll, month end) to reduce manual work and align with Group standards.
• Deliver monthly management accounts to Group timetable and provide clear commentary on performance, margins and variances.
• Support budgeting, reforecasts, year-end and statutory accounts; develop KPI reporting and management information.
