Job summary

Howett-Thorpe Recruitment Consultants Limited based near Farnham is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join their SME family-run business. The role is fully remote, with weekly meetings in Farnham, so you must be local to attend these sessions.

The position is for 4/5 short days, around 20-25 hours a week, and you will manage the full finance function, reporting to Directors, and liaise with external accountants.

• Previous experience in a similar position.
• Sole charge/SME experience is essential.
• Good attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Managing the full finance function and reporting to Directors.
• Prepare and produce management accounts.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure schedules agree.
• Update cash flow daily and chase debtors weekly.
• Oversee Purchase Ledger and the sales invoice cost schedule.
• Collaborate with external accountants at year end.
• Build relationships with suppliers and onboard new clients.

Finance Manager - About The Role

In this role you will be managing the full finance function and will be reporting into the Directors of the business. Previous experience in an SME or sole charge position is essential, and your key responsibilities will be:

• Supporting with the preparation and production of the management accounts.
• Reconcile all balance sheet accounts to make sure they agree with schedules.
• Check stock and journals from cost of sales in P&L to stock in balance sheet.
• Update cash flow on a daily basis
• Chase debtors weekly, updating the credit control and cash flow report.
• Managing Purchase Ledger, updating the sales invoice cost schedule.
• Working with external accountants at year end and providing all relevant information.
• Building relationships with key suppliers and onboarding new clients.

The successful Finance Manager will have:
