Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Manufacturing UK Finance team, supporting the UK Manufacturing function. We have over 900 employees, a direct cost base of £100m and our outputs generate revenues of £1bn per annum.

Salary: Up to £75,000 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2-3 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

You will be joining a growing team of enthusiastic individuals, passionate about the role they play. As a Business Partner, you will deliver financial expertise and guidance to the Manufacturing function to achieve its annual objectives. This is a ‘hands-on' role that will require you to be involved in working up the detail.

In this role, you will be the Deputy to the UK Head of Manufacturing Finance and you will be the line manager for 2 colleagues.

You will:

  • Provide financial expertise in the support to and management of our product UPCs, delivering accurate, timely and valuable management information
  • Be the point of contact for the bi-annual manufacturing contract EACs (estimates at completion) on specific programmes
  • Provide financial control for the multi-million investment plan for our manufacturing capabilities and facilities
  • Complete the monthly Balance Sheet reconciliation process
  • Support the SAP 4/HANA Implementation Lead on the manufacturing business process interfaces for the delivery of the wholesale SAP system upgrade
  • Be a key representative for manufacturing Continuous Improvement initiatives

What we're looking for from you:

  • You will be a qualified accountant with experience within a large, manufacturing based environment
  • Experience of SAP and an associated Manufacturing Execution System would be a significant advantage
  • Knowledge of manufacturing based performance metrics
  • Willingness to travel to other MBDA UK sites as and when needed, as well as Europe if required
  • Proven experience of managing and developing teams
