Job summary

Xelix, a fast-growing fintech in London, seeks a hands-on Finance Operator to lead day-to-day finance and support growth. You will own month-end close, multi-entity accounting for UK and US, and produce consolidation and management reports.

The role requires a qualified accountant with SaaS experience, strong controls, and a proactive approach to automation and AI-enabled finance tools. Hybrid work, competitive salary, and benefits accompany this opportunity.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
• 6+ years of progressive finance experience.
• Experience managing month-end close, multi-entity accounting, and consolidation.
• Experience in SaaS and high-growth businesses.
• Experience implementing finance systems and automation initiatives.
• Interest in leveraging AI to improve finance processes.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close for the Group.
• Lead close processes for UK and US entities.
• Prepare monthly group consolidations and intercompany reconciliations.
• Ensure accurate management accounts and schedules.
• Review journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Lead year-end audit coordination with external auditors.
• Be primary owner of general ledger and financial integrity.
• Provide monthly management reporting packs for executives.
• Deliver analysis on performance, trends, variances, KPIs.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting frameworks.
• Own end-to-end invoicing for enterprise customers.
• Ensure timely billing in line with contracts.
• Partner with Commercial teams on billing accuracy and data integrity.
• Monitor accounts receivable and support collections.
• Drive improvements to revenue recognition and invoicing controls.
• Identify opportunities to automate and improve processes.
• Lead finance systems enhancements and integrations.
• Adopt AI-enabled tools and workflows in finance.
• Improve reporting through financial and operational data.
• Establish scalable processes and controls for growth.
• Serve as go-to person for day-to-day finance matters.
• Provide trusted financial guidance to stakeholders.

We are looking for a highly motivated and hands‑on Finance Operator to lead the day‑to‑day finance function and support the continued growth of Xelix.

• Improve reporting capabilities through better use of financial and operational data.
• Establish scalable processes and controls that support rapid company growth.
• Serve as the go‑to person for all day‑to‑day finance matters across the business.
• Provide trusted financial guidance to stakeholders across the organisation.
• Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Act as a key deputy and trusted partner to the VP Finance.

• Passion for leveraging AI and emerging technologies to improve finance processes and reporting.
• Familiarity with Xero, HubSpot, and modern finance technology stacks.
