Job summary

Charles Tyrwhitt is seeking a Finance Manager to provide financial control across sales, cash, cost of sales, stock and balance sheet items. The role covers multi-territory accounting and requires strong accounting fundamentals, stakeholder engagement, and a proactive approach to improvements.

You will oversee stock reporting, cost of sales insights, and budgeting/forecasting, while coordinating with auditors and driving efficiency across the finance function.

Qualifications

• Audit experience in retail is a plus but not required.
• Ability to build solid stakeholder relationships at all levels.
• Proactively seek process improvements and opportunities.
• Qualified accountant with strong technical and commercial sense.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly stock and cost of sales reporting across the Group.
• Provide cost of sales reporting with commercial insight on inbound freight, duties, returns, and supply chains.
• Report stock across distribution centres and stores; reconcile to GL.
• Review month end sales reconciliations across channels, currencies, tender types.
• Conduct sales-to-cash reconciliations and review bank lodgements.
• Manage year-end auditors and support closing activities.
• Identify overspend and financial opportunities; support budgeting and forecasting.

The primary purpose of the Finance Manager role is to provide financial control across sales, cash, cost of sales, stock and other areas of the balance sheet, within a team responsible for accounting across our many territories and channels.

Responsibility for monthly stock and cost of sales reporting across the Group. Cost of sales reporting to involve commercial insight into areas such as inbound freight costs, customs duty spend, returns processing costs, and a detailed understanding of the company’s supply chains. Stock reporting will require accounting for stock across distribution centres and stores globally, including reconciliations to the general ledger, and analysis of movements and adjustments following stock counts. Review of month end sales reconciliations across all channels, currencies and tender types. Monthly sales to cash reconciliations, and review of bank reconciliations and uncleared lodgements reports. Manage the auditors at year end to help review and work through all of the above areas. You will have the opportunity to identify and resolve any areas of overspend, financial opportunities, or weak controls in any of these areas. You will also have responsibility for budgeting and forecasting margin adjustments, stock, and many elements of the cashflow and balance sheet.
