Job summary

Vardey Recruitment is helping a modern international SME in Westbourne, Bournemouth, Dorset, recruit a Finance Manager / Financial Accountant. The role offers a salary of £40,000–£55,000 plus benefits, hybrid working, and progression opportunities.

They seek a Part-Qualified, Qualified or QBE Accountant to work closely with the CEO and management team, taking ownership of month-end, statutory accounts, VAT, payroll and dynamic system improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience with month-end and year-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and statutory accounts.
• Strong Excel and accounting systems experience, including VAT, payroll, and month-end reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end and year-end accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support management accounts and statutory accounts.
• Oversee VAT returns, payroll and tax accruals.
• Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation.
• Assist with corporation tax and international tax compliance.
• Liaise with external accountants, auditors and tax advisers.
• Improve finance systems, controls and processes.
• Provide accounting support across the wider business.
• Share workload within a two-person team with plans to hire a third.
