Vardey Recruitment is delighted to support a very modern, forward-thinking, growing international SME based in Westbourne, Bournemouth, Dorset, in the search for an Accountant – Part-Qualified, Qualified or QBE. This is a broad and varied financial accounting role, working closely with the CEO and management team to strengthen the finance function.

Salary £40,000-£55,000 with benefits, hybrid working, and ongoing study support in a relaxed culture with progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant or QBE with potential for broader scope.
• Strong Excel and accounting systems experience required.
• Experience with VAT, payroll, and month-end reporting desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end and year-end accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support management accounts and statutory accounts.
• Oversee VAT returns, payroll and tax accruals.
• Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation.
• Assist with corporation tax and international tax compliance.
• Coordinate with external accountants, auditors and tax advisers.

Finance Manager / Accountant

Westbourne - Bournemouth - Dorset

Vardey Recruitment is delighted to support a very modern, forward-thinking, growing international SME based in Westbourne, Bournemouth, Dorset, in the search for an Accountant – Part-Qualified, Qualified or QBE.

This is a broad and varied financial accounting role, working closely with the CEO, Management Accountant and wider business. You’ll have the opportunity to share the work load within the team, using your technical skills and play an important role in a growing the finance function within a contemporary very flat structured, people-focused organisation.

The Accountant Role

• Managing month-end and year-end accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations
• Supporting management accounts and statutory accounts
• Overseeing VAT returns, payroll and tax accruals
• Maintaining the fixed asset register and depreciation
• Supporting corporation tax and international tax compliance
• Assisting with US sales tax and Middle East operations
• Liaising with external accountants, auditors and tax advisers
• Supporting R&D tax relief claims
• Improving finance systems, controls and processes
• Providing accounting support across the wider business

About You as an Accountant / PQ / QBE

• You could be a qualified Accountant (AAT, ACCA, ACA or CIMA), an experienced QBE Accountant, or a part-qualified Accountant who is ready to step into a broader role and take on more responsibility.

You don't need to have experience in every area listed above — the business is happy to support someone with the right attitude who wants to develop, or someone with all the skills seeking progression as the company grows.
