You will provide financial guidance, oversee budget setting, in-year monitoring and account closure, and support external funding streams across multiple council services.

Qualifications

• Fully or part-qualified accountant or AAT qualified
• Strong financial governance and budgeting skills
• Experience providing financial advice to senior management
• Ability to oversee and develop a Finance team

Responsibilities

• Oversee and assist with managing the team that provides financial support to various Council Services, ensuring effective budget setting and in-year monitoring
• Support closure of accounts and management of external funding streams
• Identify significant financial issues and provide actionable recommendations to senior management
• Provide professional financial advice to senior managers and budget holders within timescales
• Support the Council's Medium-Term Financial Strategy and statutory returns
