Job summary

Marks Sattin is recruiting on behalf of an established and growing business in Hull for an experienced Finance Manager. You will own day-to-day finance activities and support management reporting, reporting to the Managing Director and influencing commercial decisions.

The role covers purchase and sales ledgers, payroll, VAT/CIS, reconciliations, and year-end support while enabling significant process improvements and personal career growth.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a varied finance or accounts role.
• Experience with payroll and management accounts.
• Good understanding of VAT, reconciliations and financial controls.
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
• Confident working independently in a hands-on role.
• AAT qualified, part-qualified ACCA/CIMA or qualified by experience would be advantageous.
• Experience with SAP, BrightPay or within an SME environment would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Managing purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control.
• Processing weekly and monthly payroll.
• Assisting with monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management.
• Preparing VAT returns and managing CIS requirements.
• Completing bank reconciliations and supplier payments.
• Supporting year-end accounts and improving financial processes.
