Description
Finance Manager – Fleet
As a key member of the Financial Investments team in FP&A, this role will report into the Senior Finance Manager for Fleet assisting in providing analytical support to both the Fleet Procurement & Fleet Strategy teams as well as owning the accounting responsibilities to Finance and is a key business partnering role.
The key responsibilities are as follows.
Business Partnering
Provides a true Business Partner framework to the Fleet strategy and transactions teams ensuring that the business owners are supported with the right information, insight and challenge when making decisions. Strong business partnering with cross functional stakeholders including the wider Finance teams to ensure seamless communication and integrity of results and forecasts.
Provides financial support across the ownership cost base managing:
> Budget setting
> Monthly reporting and analysis
> Capex cash flow reporting (internally and for external quarterly reporting)
> In year forecasting within the PBT model
> Business case evaluation and decision support
> Year end and Interim Audit support
> Ownership of the Fleet Balance Sheet
> Technical accounting support for ownership costs
> Ad-hoc projects
Business Performance and Analytical support :
> Providing monthly detailed analysis and insight into the costs which can be used to drive business performance and improve the cost base
> Responsibility for accurate forecasting into consolidated PBT model
> Driving confidence in numbers and providing insight into risks and opportunities
> Driving continuous improvements in the operational and finance processes
> Demonstrates a detailed understanding of ownership costs
> Leads the team in developing a good understanding of ownership costs including the wider impact of decisions or delays
> Creation of budget pack for ownership costs and capex detailing variances for presentation to senior management and for fleet procurement.
> Provides financial evaluation and acts as decision support for ad-hoc projects and cost saving initiatives
Accounting & control:
> Reviews full month end analysis detailing variances to plan and tracking the effectiveness of cost saving initiatives
> Responsible for the production of month end reporting packs and consolidated commentary for Ownership costs
> Ensuring the financial accuracy of the Group and entity Balance sheet for all areas of responsibility; including the timely production and review of all balance sheet reconciliations and journals in accordance with easyJet accounting policies
> Ensuring fleet transactions such as sale and leaseback deals are correctly accounted for within the financial statements and appropriate liaison is undertake with tax and treasury teams regarding implications on treatments
> Accountability for leased fleet positions on Anaplan lease accounting software package, including forecasts and actuals
People Leadership, Relationships and Influence
As a member of the FP&A team, the Finance Manager Fleet has responsibility for
> Maintaining effective cross functional relationships.
> Providing Management as part of the Financial Investments team within FP&A.
> Providing subject matter expertise to a diverse and demanding set of stakeholders.
> Management of Financial Analyst
Requirements of the Role
Requirements for the Role
> Qualified accountant with minimum 2 years post qualified experience able to embrace large, complex, preferably fast moving, entities.
> Prior experience within a technical accounting area preferable
> Technical knowledge of ownership related standards beneficial (e.g. IFRS 16)
> Excellent analytical skills with an ability to demonstrate an excellent grasp of variance analysis and the key drivers.
> Ability to deliver the level of detail and insight required to support the Fleet Procurement teams
> Able to communicate and challenge effectively with key stakeholders at all seniority levels in the organisation.
> Ability to explain finance to non-financial stakeholders
> A proactive team player.
> An ability to work on own initiative and has the confidence to offer solutions.
> A true self starter, with high levels of motivation and enthusiasm.
> Strong Mircosoft Office skills including Excel and PowerPoint

LOCATION & HOURS OF WORK
This full-time role will be based in Luton (Hybrid working, 3 days a week in Luton) and will be 40 hours per week. Remember, we are always #happytotalkflex.
