Job summary

Unity Resourcing Ltd is recruiting a Financial Controller / Finance Manager for a growing business based in Knaresborough. You will own the finance function, deliver robust monthly reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and provide commercial insight to support growth.

You’ll lead a small team, maintain strong controls, manage year-end processes and work with senior stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and automation where possible.

Qualifications

• Qualified finance professional with experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Strong controls and reconciliations experience.
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non‑finance stakeholders.

Unity Resourcing are delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Financial Controller / Finance Manager to join a successful and growing organisation based in Knaresborough.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional to take ownership of an established finance function while playing a key role in supporting future growth. Reporting into senior leadership, you'll be responsible for financial reporting, controls, budgeting, forecasting and delivering valuable commercial insight to support strategic decision-making.

Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you'll ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain robust controls, drive continuous improvement and develop a small finance team. This role would suit a hands‑on individual who enjoys balancing the detail of day‑to‑day finance with a broader commercial perspective.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing the day‑to‑day finance function
• Producing monthly management accounts and financial reporting
• Budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management
• Maintaining strong financial controls and reconciliations
• Supporting year‑end accounts, audits and statutory reporting
• Developing KPI reporting and management information
• Identifying process improvements and automation opportunities
• Mentoring and supporting junior finance team members
• Partnering with senior stakeholders to support business performance and growth

About You

• ACCA or CIMA or equivalent qualified
• Previous experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or similar role
• Strong management accounting, budgeting and forecasting experience
• Excellent financial control and reconciliation skills
• Advanced Excel and accounting systems knowledge
• Experience leading, mentoring or developing team members
• Able to communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non‑finance stakeholders
