Job summary

ARML in North London is seeking a hands-on Finance Manager / Company Accountant to run day-to-day and monthly accounting within a small, family-run business.

Reporting to the MD/Owner, you will manage bookkeeping on Sage 50, purchase and sales ledgers, month-end closes, balance sheet reconciliations, VAT/CIS returns and year-end prep, with ad hoc support for the MD. This is a five‑days‑a‑week office role.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience.
• Experience using Sage 50 for bookkeeping and ledgers.
• Strong month-end close and balance sheet reconciliation skills.
• VAT and CIS returns experience.
• Inter-company reconciliations and cash flow management.

Responsibilities

• Daily bookkeeping on Sage Line 50.
• Processing purchase ledger invoices.
• Bank reconciliations and cash flow management.
• Raising sales ledger invoices, credit control, monitoring aged debtors.
• Supplier statements reconciliations and payments runs.
• Month-end procedures and reconciliations.
• Balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and prepayments.
• Processing monthly management accounts.
• Inter-company reconciliations.
• VAT and CIS returns.
• Year-end preparation for external accountants.
• Ad hoc responsibilities for the MD/ Owner.
