Job Summary

This exciting role is at the heart of Transport Scotland’s Finance and Corporate Services directorate. As Finance Manager, you will be a key member of the Finance Business Partnering Team, supporting the wider finance function, including accounts payable, financial accounting teams, and policy and operational directorates within Transport Scotland.

An opportunity has arisen to join the Finance and Corporate Services (FCS) Team as a Finance Manager. The successful candidate will develop a broad range of skills and gain valuable insight into the agency’s work.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate budget monitoring and reporting, providing robust information and explanations to support decision-making.
• Provide financial management advice through reporting and analysis, delivering regular updates to stakeholders.
• Lead, support, and line manage a small team, ensuring delivery of priorities and providing guidance to direct reports.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, offering advice and constructive challenge.
• Identify process improvements, focusing on enhancing financial reporting systems for better efficiency.
• Assist in preparing the Transport Scotland Annual Report and Accounts and liaise with auditors.

Person Specification

Qualifications: Fully CCAB qualified with up-to-date CPD. Candidates who are part-qualified but working towards full qualification with relevant experience will also be considered.
