Job summary

Wade Macdonald is partnering with an established organisation to appoint an experienced Finance Manager who will lead a small team and own financial accounting, reporting and controls. You will drive accurate month-end close and provide strategic financial input across the business.

You will manage month-end and year-end processes, statutory accounts, audits and develop the accounting function to improve processes and collaboration with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with strong technical accounting and reporting knowledge.
• Experience managing month-end and year-end processes, statutory accounts and audits.
• Exposure to ERP systems such as SAP; finance transformation or automation advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Taking ownership of the month-end close and ensuring financial reporting is completed accurately and within agreed timescales.
• Reviewing key accounting entries, including journals, accruals, prepayments and provisions.
• Maintaining oversight of balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring discrepancies are investigated and addressed.
• Identifying opportunities to streamline financial processes and shorten reporting cycles.
• Coordinating year-end accounting activities and supporting the production of statutory accounts.
• Managing requirements arising from both internal and external audits.
• Acting as a key Finance contact for auditors on financial accounting matters.
• Leading, supporting and developing a team of three Financial Accountants.
• Reviewing the team's output to maintain high standards of accuracy and quality.
• Building effective relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and providing financial expertise when required.

About the Job

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to take ownership of a key financial accounting function. Managing a team of three Financial Accountants, you will oversee financial reporting, controls and compliance while ensuring month-end and year-end activities are delivered accurately and to deadline.

You will work closely with colleagues across Finance and the wider organisation, combining strong technical accounting expertise with effective people management and a focus on improving processes.

About the Successful Applicant

You will be an ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualified accountant with strong technical accounting and reporting knowledge. You will have experience managing month-end and year-end processes, statutory accounts and audits, alongside proven people management skills. Exposure to complex or multi-entity environments, ERP systems such as SAP, and finance transformation or automation would be advantageous.
