Job summary

Orka Financial Ltd is seeking an experienced Finance Manager for a permanent, part-time role. The position is predominantly home-based with occasional in-person management meetings in the South.

You will lead management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow analysis while providing commercial input to the leadership team and guiding a Finance Administrator.

The role offers £60,000–£70,000 per annum pro rata for two days a week, plus 25 days holiday pro rata and a 5% pension.

Qualifications

• Finance Manager or senior accounting role with leadership experience.
• Experience with management accounts, budgeting, forecasting.
• Knowledge of UK VAT, PAYE and tax compliance.

Responsibilities

• Own the quality and integrity of management accounts, balance-sheet reporting and cash-flow information.
• Lead budgets, forecasts and clear analysis of performance against plan.
• Give practical financial advice on investment, hiring, pricing and other commercial decisions.
• Maintain proportionate controls and coordinate tax, statutory and regulatory requirements with external advisers.
• Monitor working capital, currency exposure and payment processes.
• Improve finance systems, documentation and reporting so they remain effective as the business develops.
• Support governance, insurance, contracts and finance-related quality-compliance activity.
• Coach and develop the Finance Administrator while retaining appropriate review and oversight.

Orka Financial is recruiting an experienced Finance Manager for a permanent, part-time opportunity with a growing technology-focused business. The position is predominantly home based, with occasional in-person management meetings in the South, and offers £60,000–£70,000 per annum pro rata for two flexible days each week.

The opportunity

This is a broad role combining hands-on financial stewardship with commercial input at leadership level. You will work closely with the CEO, join a small management team and guide an established Finance Administrator, helping the organisation strengthen its controls, reporting and decision-making as it grows.

What you will be doing

What you will bring

• Strong experience as a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or in a comparable senior accounting role.
• Confidence across management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow planning.
• Knowledge of UK VAT, PAYE, tax and wider financial compliance.
• Commercial judgement and the ability to turn financial information into useful recommendations.
• Experience working with senior leaders and developing a member of a finance team.
• A practical, organised and independent approach suited to a growing business.
• ACA, ACCA or CIMA would be helpful, although relevant experience is equally valued.

Package and working pattern

The role is two days per week with flexibility over the working pattern. The salary is £60,000–£70,000 per annum pro rata, alongside 25 days' holiday pro rata and a 5% pension. The successful candidate will work mainly from home and meet management colleagues in person once or twice per month.
