Job summary

Grosvenor invites applications for a qualified and motivated Finance Manager to join our Finance team in Chester. The role combines technical accounting, financial planning and analysis, stakeholder engagement, and people management.

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, Overheads, Treasury, and Investments, you will oversee trust reporting, overheads accounting, and ad-hoc financial projects, with one direct report. ACA/ACCA/CIMA is required and strong Excel skills are essential.

• Qualified accounting professional with ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Trust reporting: provide inputs for quarterly management accounts and year-end statutory accounts.

We are looking for a qualified and motivated Finance Manager to join our Finance team in Chester. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant seeking a varied role that combines technical accounting, financial planning and analysis, stakeholder engagement, and people management.

Main purpose of role Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, Overheads, Treasury, and Investments, working in a busy finance department the main areas of responsibility will include: Trust Reporting Overheads financial and management reporting Ad-hoc financial projects

This role involves the management of one direct report, a Finance Assistant. You will be required to provide day to day hands on support and guidance and will need to ensure that skills within the team are continually being developed.

Key responsibilities

• Trust reporting
  • Responsible for preparation and review of inputs into quarterly management accounts, year-end statutory accounts, budgets and forecasts for a trust, ensuring a thorough review process is undertaken, and reporting deadlines are met at all times.
  • Review of month end and quarter end journals
  • Preparation of trust management accounts and budgets
  • Preparation and review of inputs into annual trust financial accounts prepared under UK GAAP
  • Preparation and review of monthly, annual, and 2 year-rolling cash flows to assess future cashflow requirements
• Overheads
  • Financial and Management Reporting Responsible for the effective management and financial reporting of overheads for the Main Fund to ensure they are controlled.
  • Support operational managers throughout the budgeting and planning processes to ensure managers are fully engaged and take ownership of their budgets and plans
  • Take ownership of all financial and management accounting and reporting for Main Fund including preparation of inputs into year end accounts and annual budgets.
  • Provide best estimate forecast cash flows for Main Fund
  • Provide accurate analysis to the tax team to support the annual tax and quarterly VAT returns for Main Fund
  • Prepare reports that are clear, engaging and contain insightful output

  • Undertake ad-hoc projects and assignments as required Challenge processes, ways of working and output and continuously introduce improvements Provide helpful, friendly and efficient service at all times and ensure information is provided to non-financial personnel in an ‘easy to understand’ format

About you

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical accounting expertise with a proactive and collaborative approach. You will have: A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) Post-qualification accounting experience Strong management and financial accounting experience Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities Strong communication and stakeholder management skills High levels of accuracy and attention to detail The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines A genuine desire to learn, develop and continuously improve Experience of trust accounting would be advantageous but is not essential.
