Job summary

Grosvenor Group in Chester is seeking a Senior Finance Manager - Financial Reporting to lead financial reporting, budgeting and cash-flow planning for Family Office structures. You will partner with the Financial Controller and London teams to deliver timely reports and robust controls, while coaching the team.

The role requires post-qualification accounting experience, strong Excel and modelling skills, and excellent communication with stakeholders across the business.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/ACIMA) with practical accounting experience post qualification
• Knowledge of trusts is preferred but not essential
• Strong financial reporting and management accounting knowledge
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial modelling capabilities
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality

Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for a number of Family Office Trusts and companies, ensuring reporting deadlines are met
• Lead on preparation of quarterly management accounts and main reporting pack
• Lead on annual year-end accounts preparation and review (audited and non-audited)
• Coordinate timetables with London-based Finance Team and auditors
• Prepare Audit Committee papers (2 meetings a year)
• Lead annual budget preparation and main reporting pack
• Lead preparation of Annual Finance Review
• Prepare quarterly Family Office cash flow for liquidity report
• Prepare quarterly Liquidity Report with other Finance teams
• Prepare/ review monthly cash flows and advise on cash requirements
• Assist tax department with annual tax returns

Location: Eaton Estate Office, Chester, Cheshire (with occasional travel to London)

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time, Hybrid Working

As part of our continued success, we're looking for an experienced and commercially astute Senior Finance Manager - Financial Reporting to join our Finance team based in Chester.

Main purpose of role

• Financial reporting and control

• Working closely with the Financial Controller, Financial Reporting on financial modelling and analysis

• Coaching and providing day to day support and guidance to team including continuous development

Responsibilities

Financial reporting and control

• Overall responsibility for a number of Family Office Trusts and companies ensuring that reporting deadlines are met at all times

• Lead on preparation of quarterly management accounts, including establishing timetables, reviewing management accounts and preparation of main reporting pack

• Lead on annual year-end accounts preparation and review, including audited and non-audited accounts

• Establishing and agreeing timetables with London based Finance Team and auditors.

• Preparation of Audit Committee papers (2 meetings a year)

• Lead on annual budget preparation including producing timetables, reviewing budgets and preparation of main reporting pack

• Lead on preparation of Annual Finance Review

• Preparation of quarterly Family Office stressed cash flow for inclusion in quarterly liquidity report

• Preparation of quarterly Liquidity Report, including liaising with other Finance teams across the organisation

• Preparation and review of monthly cash flows and make decisions on future cash flow requirements

• Preparation and review 24 month rolling cash flows to assess liquidity requirements and make decisions on investments

• Provide assistance to tax department in preparation of annual tax returns as required

• Liaison with legal advisors and investment teams. Provision of information as required.

Financial modelling and analysis

• The Financial Controller retains overall responsibility for this area, with this role working collaboratively to support the following:

• Updating the long-range financial model to support operational and strategic decision making, making changes to reflect changes in strategy, structure and relevant legislation, ensuring an audit trail is maintained

• Maintaining base assumptions and data within the model, liaising closely with providers of key information across the organisation to ensure regularly updated

• Test, challenge and critically analyse the outputs from the model as base assumptions and inputs are changed

• Incorporate sensitivity analysis and scenarios reporting on the impact on cash flow, asset values, returns and funding requirements

• Participation in strategic discussions and decision making

• Prepare reports that are clear, concise and complete with insightful and key messages highlighted

• Adopting best practice when building / maintaining new or existing financial models in Excels

Projects

Assist the Financial Controller with projects as required.

Tasks include:

• Leading on projects from development of initial scope, production of clear project plans to implementation, managing the project team effectively.

• Communicating effectively throughout the project with the Financial Controller and other key stakeholders reporting on progress through clear, informative reports.

• Assessing project outcomes and ensuring that any new processes implemented are working effectively and adjusted as appropriate.

Essential skills and attributes:

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) with practical accounting experience post qualification

• A knowledge of trusts is preferred but not essential

Skills

• Highly numerate and logical with strong appraisal skills

• Highly proficient with Microsoft applications, in particular advanced excel skills

• Awareness of statistical concepts

• Technically up to date with desire to maintain and share this knowledge

• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills

• Able to build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders

• Excellent attention to detail and dedication to providing quality, error free work to tight deadlines

• A desire and ability to learn is essential as well as being interested and inquisitive
