Job summary

Reed is seeking a hands-on Temporary Finance Manager to take ownership of core finance processes and ensure smooth day-to-day operations in the United Kingdom.

The role includes VAT returns, PAYE and pension administration, and payroll for roughly 50 weekly employees and 10–12 monthly/weekly staff. You will maintain ledgers and prepare accounts up to Trial Balance, with ad hoc finance tasks as needed.

Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Temporary Finance Manager . This is a hands‑on role requiring a strong all‑round finance professional who can take ownership of core finance processes and ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Preparing and submitting VAT Returns
• Managing PAYE and pension contributions
• Overseeing weekly and monthly payroll, including:
  
  • Approximately 50 weekly payroll employees
  • 10-12 monthly/weekly payroll staff
• Maintaining and reconciling both Sales and Purchase Ledgers
• Producing accounts up to Trial Balance
• Supporting general finance operations and ensuring compliance with financial regulations
• Assisting with ad hoc finance tasks as required

Requirements

To be considered, candidates must be able to confidently and competently handle:

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in a similar Finance Manager or Senior Finance role
• Strong working knowledge of UK finance regulations (VAT, PAYE, pensions)

• Able to work independently in a fast‑paced environment
• Comfortable handling a hands‑on, transactional finance role
