Lusona Consultancy are recruiting on behalf of a Manufacturing organisation in South Lanarkshire for a Finance Manager. The role involves travel across multiple sites to provide partnership activities with manufacturing and operations, guiding the leadership team with robust financial controls.

The ideal candidate is a qualified accountant or QBE with manufacturing experience, capable of leading a finance team, improving processes and delivering insightful management information.

Lusona Consultancy are delighted to be working on behalf of a Manufacturing organisation in South Lanarkshire to recruit a Finance Manager. Our client are a Scottish manufacturer with over 40 years experience. Our client are a family business currently at 14 million turnover across 4 sites across Scotland and the UK. This role will involve travel across a multi-site providing partnership activities across Manufacturing and operational functions.

The Finance Manager will join a hands on environment offering technical and commercial guidance across the leadership team and ensuring the smooth running of the finance team. The Salary on offer will be dependant on experience and discussed on application. Our client operate on site with a 13.00pm finish on a friday, 33 days annual leave and 5% employer pension contribution. This role offers progression into a Financial Controller role after a successful period in post.

The Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the finance function and ensuring the robust management of the general ledger. This is a varied role involving technical and commercial accounting with the opportunities for process improvement.

The Role

Key responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of monthly management accounts across the Group
• Production of management information and reports for senior management
• Product costing & profitability analysis
• Pricing and margin analysis
• BOM analysis (bill order material analysis)
• Management and support of the finance team
• Bank reporting and credit control
• Working with large data sets and improving the functionality of reporting
• Providing cover for payroll and other finance functions when required
• Managing the year-end audit process
• Liaising with external providers including pensions and insurance
• Supporting stock management activity including valuation
• Identifying and implementing process improvements across finance and the wider business

This is a commercial finance role working with the management team and operations to gain a true understanding of the business and how finance can add value through effective business partnering.

About You

The successful candidate will be a qualified or Qualified through experience accountant ideally with previous experience working within a manufacturing environment. Candidates will also be considered who are looking to develop over the long-term in the manufacturing sector.

You should also have:

• Strong management accounting experience
• Previous experience working with ERP systems
• Advanced Excel and wider MS Office skills
• Strong commercial and analytical ability
• The confidence to work closely with senior management and other areas of the business

This role would suit a hands on accountant who enjoys working with operations to add value to business performance .

Salary: Competitive
