Job summary

The Work Shop Resourcing Ltd is seeking a Finance Manager to lead day-to-day financial management and provide strategic financial insight for a growing design and manufacturing studio in Ringwood, UK.

Reporting to the Owner, you will oversee monthly accounts, budgeting, cash flow, and board reporting while partnering with operations to drive profitability and controls as the business expands.

Qualifications

• Full professional accounting qualification (AAT or ACCA/CIMA) is required.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in a finance management or similar role.
• Experience in manufacturing/product-based businesses is advantageous but not essential.
• Experience using accounting software such as Xero or Sage.
• Strong Excel skills with formulas (e.g., VLOOKUP, SUMIF).
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of the finance function.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with colleagues across the business.

The Role of Finance Manager

Reporting directly to the Owner, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day financial management of the business and provide financial insight to support operational and strategic decisions across the company.

• Preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Budgeting and forecasting.
• Cash flow management and reporting.
• Inventory and stock valuation.
• Margin and profitability analysis.
• Preparation for draft annual accounts for audit to complete

• Supporting operational and production teams with financial analysis and business partnering.
• Responsibility for purchasing and supplier expenditure management.
• Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and controls as the business grows.

Ideal Experience of the Finance Manager

• A full professional accounting qualification (AAT or any of the following: (ACCA, CIMA)
• A minimum of two years' experience in a finance management or similar role.
• Experience within manufacturing or product-based businesses would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Experience using accounting software such as Xero or Sage.
