Job summary

Amey Ltd. is hiring a Permanent Finance Manager in the North West. This hybrid role combines robust financial management with proactive business partnering to support strategic decisions.

You will work with senior stakeholders, lead budgeting and forecasting, and deliver timely management reporting. The ideal candidate will bring senior-level accounting experience, strong modelling skills and a track record of influencing across complex organisations.

Qualifications

• Strong management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis experience.
• Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
• Experience in governance, risk management and financial controls.
• Advanced spreadsheet and financial modelling skills.
• Experience in facilities management, projects or complex organisations.
• Experience leading, coaching or developing colleagues.
• Experience mobilising large, complex contracts.
• Familiarity with data visualisation, BI or enterprise planning tools.

Hours of work: Mon-Fri 37.5 hours per week

This is an influential role combining rigorous financial management with forward-looking business partnering. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, turning complex financial information into practical insight that improves performance, manages risk and enables confident strategic decisions.

What you will do

• Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, translating financial data into clear commercial and operational insight.
• Lead budgets, forecasts and medium-term plans aligned with evidence and strategic priorities.
• Deliver accurate, timely management reporting, commentary and decision-ready analysis.
• Analyse performance drivers, trends, risks and opportunities, providing constructive challenge and practical recommendations.
• Maintain effective financial controls, reconciliations and governance while supporting month-end, year-end and audit requirements.
• Develop business cases, options appraisals and financial scenarios that help leaders improve value, direct resources and make informed decisions.

What you will bring

• A collaborative, proactive and customer-focused approach, with the confidence to influence and constructively challenge senior stakeholders.
• Strong management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis experience.
