Overview

Harmonic is working exclusively with a high‑growth, internationally recognised consumer business to recruit an experienced Interim Finance Manager (Inside IR35) for a 6‑month contract. The company has expanded significantly and continues to scale across multiple regions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and enjoys bringing structure, discipline, and consistency to an evolving finance function.

Reporting and Leadership

The role reports into the Financial Controller and will take ownership of the financial close process, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant reporting across the group. You will manage and develop a small team, oversee the integrity of balance sheet and cash flow reporting, and strengthen internal controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the month‑end close, ensuring all teams deliver accurate results to agreed timelines.
  • Own the balance sheet and cash flow statement, providing meaningful analysis and commentary to senior leadership.
  • Review and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Maintain and update accounting policies and internal controls, ensuring ongoing compliance with IFRS.
  • Assist with the record‑to‑report workstream linked to the company's ERP implementation.
  • Act as a senior point of contact for external auditors, supporting the year‑end audit and preparation of statutory accounts.
  • Oversee elements of tax compliance, including review of VAT returns and coordination with internal and external advisors.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop the financial accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Drive process efficiencies across the finance function, identifying opportunities to automate, streamline, and improve reporting quality.
Qualifications
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent).
  • Strong experience in financial accounting, ideally within wholesale, ecommerce, or product‑led environments.
  • Excellent understanding of IFRS and solid technical accounting capability.
  • Experience managing and developing teams in a fast‑paced business.
  • Confident communicator able to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with complex datasets and financial systems.
Preferred Experience (Bonus)
  • Experience within a Product/Retail/Luxury brand background strongly preferred.
