Job summary

London-based law firm is seeking a commercially minded Finance Manager to support the Finance Director with firmwide financial performance. The role offers hybrid working (3 days in office, 2 remote) and a £75,000 salary.

You will lead a finance team of 4, oversee cash management, management accounts, and liaise with auditors and tax advisors. The ideal candidate will be ACCA/CIMA qualified or part qualified, with 5+ years in a busy law firm finance department, strong Excel and SQL skills, and

Qualifications

• Qualified or part-qualified in ACCA/CIMA with law firm exposure.
• Strong financial analysis skills and familiarity with SRA requirements.
• Proficiency in Excel and SQL for financial modelling and reporting.
• Experience leading finance projects and liaising with auditors.

Responsibilities

• Lead a finance team of 4 and manage cash and headcount forecasting.
• Prepare management accounts, statutory statements and audits.
• Monitor budgets, covenants and bank reporting.
• Prepare partner drawings and quarterly commissions.
• Oversee balance sheet reviews and reconciliations.

Job description

We are currently working with a leading London based commercial law firm who are keen to bring on board a commercially minded Finance Manager to support the Finance Director with firmwide financial performance.

• Salary £75,000
• Hybrid Working – 3 Days Office / 2 Remote

They are keen to hire a qualified / part qualified Management Accountant with strong financial analytical and SRA knowledge to work on a mix of projects, take the lead on all cash management and preparation of management accounts whilst liaising with auditors and tax advisors. This is a fairly autonomous position and the incoming Finance Manager will have the opportunity to grow into the role and support the Finance Director with a range or tasks and be able to lead on firmwide projects whilst acting as their ‘Number 2’.

Finance Manager responsibilities include;

• Manage a Finance team of 4
• P&L forecasts, cash forecasts and updates
• Statutory financial statements and audit adjustments.
• Oversee annual income and costs budgets
• Quarterly Financial Covenants tests to the bank
• Supporting the COFA with the SRA and Statutory LLP audits
• Preparation of Partner drawings schedules and calculating quarterly commission payments
• Review of the monthly Balance Sheet & bank reconciliations
• Monthly update of Fee Earner and Support staff headcount listings
• Managing the Partner’s Capital requirements; liaising with the bank, application for new or increased capital as required.
• Finance analysis and valuation of WIP & Aged Debts

Financial Accountant requirements;

• ACCA/CIMA qualified or part qualified
• Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a busy Finance department in a law firm
• Excellent working knowledge of Excel and SQL
• Full SRA, VAT & AML knowledge
• Experience of running numerous financial based projects
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
