Job summary

Larbey Evans Ltd, a leading London-based commercial law firm, seeks a commercially minded Finance Manager to support the Finance Director with firmwide financial performance.

Hybrid working: 3 days in the office and 2 remote. You will lead a finance team of 4, manage P&L and cash forecasts, and liaise with auditors and tax advisors. The role is autonomous and offers growth into the Finance Director position.

Qualifications

• ACCA/CIMA qualification or part qualification required.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a busy Finance department in a law firm.
• Strong Excel and SQL knowledge.
• Full SRA, VAT & AML knowledge.
• Experience leading financial projects.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a Finance team of 4 and oversee P&L and cash forecasts.
• Prepare statutory financial statements and audit adjustments.
• Oversee annual income and costs budgets and quarterly covenants.
• Support COFA with SRA and statutory LLP audits.
• Prepare partner drawings and quarterly commission payments.
• Review monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
• Maintain fee earner and staff headcount lists.
• Manage partner capital requirements with banks.
• Analyze WIP and aged debts for financial insight.

Job description

We are currently working with a leading London based commercial law firm who are keen to bring on board a commercially minded Finance Manager to support the Finance Director with firmwide financial performance.

• Salary £65,000 – 75,000
• Hybrid Working – 3 Days Office / 2 Remote
• Chancery Lane

They are keen to hire a qualified / part qualified Management Accountant with strong financial analytical and SRA knowledge to work on a mix of projects, take the lead on all cash management and preparation of management accounts whilst liaising with auditors and tax advisors. This is a fairly autonomous position and the incoming Finance Manager will have the opportunity to grow into the role and support the Finance Director with a range or tasks and be able to lead on firmwide projects whilst acting as their ‘Number 2’.

Finance Manager responsibilities include;

• Manage a Finance team of 4
• P&L forecasts, cash forecasts and updates
• Statutory financial statements and audit adjustments.
• Oversee annual income and costs budgets
• Quarterly Financial Covenants tests to the bank
• Supporting the COFA with the SRA and Statutory LLP audits
• Preparation of Partner drawings schedules and calculating quarterly commission payments
• Review of the monthly Balance Sheet & bank reconciliations
• Monthly update of Fee Earner and Support staff headcount listings
• Managing the Partner’s Capital requirements; liaising with the bank, application for new or increased capital as required.
• Finance analysis and valuation of WIP & Aged Debts

Financial Accountant requirements;

• ACCA/CIMA qualified or part qualified
• Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a busy Finance department in a law firm
• Excellent working knowledge of Excel and SQL
• Full SRA, VAT & AML knowledge
• Experience of running numerous financial based projects
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
