Job summary

ActiveViam is seeking a technically strong Finance Manager to join our finance team. The role supports the Group Financial Controller across UK, US, Europe and APAC entities, delivering accurate reporting and strong financial control.

The successful candidate will drive multi-jurisdictional accounting, engage with auditors and external advisers, and lead period-end close with robust internal controls. Hybrid work with 3 days in the office.

Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant with post-qualification experience in reporting or control.
  • Experience in multi-entity finance across UK, US, Europe and APAC.
  • Strong IFRS and US GAAP knowledge, including IFRS 16 and ASC 842 lease accounting.
  • Experience with statutory audits and working with external advisers.
  • PE-backed, technology or fast-growth exposure is a plus.
  • Team management experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly and quarterly management accounts across multiple entities with variance commentary.
  • Oversee annual statutory financial statements with local advisers.
  • Maintain general ledger integrity under IFRS/US GAAP; manage period-end close.
  • Manage intercompany reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet substantiation.
  • Oversee IFRS 16 and ASC 842 lease accounting and related entries.
  • Review payroll and pension contributions for accuracy.
  • Coordinate statutory accounts and audits across jurisdictions.
  • Support tax filings across corporation tax, VAT/GST, and withholding tax.
  • Develop internal controls documentation and ERP reporting improvements.
  • Mentor junior finance staff; liaise with auditors, HR, legal, commercial teams.

About the Role

We are looking for a technically strong Finance Manager to join our finance team. This is a key role supporting the Group Financial Controller in maintaining accurate, compliant, and timely financial reporting across our UK, US, French, German, Hong Kong, Australian, and Singapore entities.

The successful candidate will bring a hands-on approach to financial control, a solid grasp of multi-jurisdictional accounting, and the confidence to engage with auditors, tax advisers, and senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Control
  • Lead the preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts across UK, US, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Australia, and Singapore entities, with clear commentary on variances against budget and prior periods.
  • Oversee the preparation of annual statutory financial statements for UK, US, France, Germany, Hong Kong, and Singapore entities in conjunction with local advisers.
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, ensuring transactions are correctly recorded under applicable accounting standards (IFRS, US GAAP, local GAAP as required).
  • Manage period-end close processes, including intercompany reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet substantiation.
  • Manage lease accounting under IFRS 16 and ASC 842 and ensuring accurate period-end entries.
  • Review payroll and pension contributions across jurisdictions to ensure accurate recording and compliance.
  • Review pay runs and manage cash, including monitoring cash positions across entities.
Statutory & Compliance
  • Coordinate statutory accounts preparation and audit processes across multiple jurisdictions, including both IFRS and US GAAP audits, in conjunction with local auditors.
  • Support tax compliance filings including corporation tax, VAT/GST, and withholding tax, liaising with external advisers where required.
  • Ensure compliance with local filing obligations and corporate governance requirements in each jurisdiction as required.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and audit-ready working papers across all entities.
Consolidation & Group Reporting
  • Support the Group Financial Controller in producing consolidated group accounts and board reporting packs.
  • Assist with purchase price accounting and integration accounting for acquired entities as required.
  • Manage intercompany loan balances, transfer pricing documentation, and foreign currency translation processes.
Process Improvement & Systems
  • Identify and implement improvements to financial reporting processes, controls, and systems.
  • Support the finance team with ERP and accounting system management (e.g., Sage Intacct).
  • Design and build customised reports within Sage Intacct, taking ownership of the reporting structure.
  • Develop and maintain robust internal controls documentation and contribute to the annual controls review.
Stakeholder Management
  • Act as a key point of contact for external auditors, tax advisers, and local teams across jurisdictions.
  • Collaborate with HR, legal, and commercial teams on financial matters including acquisition integration and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide clear financial analysis and commentary to support the CFO and GFC in management and board reporting.
  • Co-ordinate monthly meetings with other departments ie marketing, IT etc to analyse actual v budgeted costs.
  • Mentor and support the development of more junior members of the finance team.
About You
Qualifications & Experience
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with post-qualification experience in a reporting or control-focused role.
  • Experience working in a multi-entity finance environment — ideally spanning UK, US, European, and APAC entities.
  • Solid technical accounting knowledge with familiarity with IFRS and US GAAP, including lease accounting standards (IFRS 16 and ASC 842); experience supporting both IFRS and US GAAP audits is advantageous.
  • Exposure to statutory audit processes and working with external advisers across different jurisdictions.
  • Experience in a PE-backed, technology, or fast-growth business is a plus.
  • Team management experience is a plus.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple entities and deadlines.
  • Clear communicator — able to translate complex accounting matters for non-finance audiences.
  • Commercially minded with an interest in understanding the business behind the numbers.
  • Self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to operate with a degree of autonomy.
  • Proficiency in Excel; experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, Sage, or similar) is desirable.
