• Manage month-end and year-end close processes with reconciliations and reporting.

• Monitor expenditures and profitability trends; deliver actionable analysis.
• Review and improve financial workflows to boost efficiency and reporting speed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand user needs and drive solutions.

Job description

We're looking for a proactive Finance Manager who will support the finance function in a fast-moving, technology-led business, who thrives on complex challenges, and is passionate about solving real-world problems. Working closely with the Head of Finance, you will ensure our private equity-backed business maintains strong day-to-day financial control and operational efficiency as it continues to scale.

You'll bring strong technical skills, a practical approach to problem-solving, and the ability to turn financial data into clear, meaningful insights for the wider business. • Manage month-end and year-end close processes smoothly and accurately, including balance sheet reconciliations, fixed asset registers, and the monthly management reporting packs.

• Prepare VAT returns and FCA filings within strict deadlines, taking full ownership of statutory accounts and the annual audit process.

• Provide accurate financial data to support forecasting.

• Monitor expenditure and profitability trends, delivering practical analysis to guide commercial decision-making.

• Review existing financial workflows to eliminate inefficiencies, automate manual tasks, and improve reporting speed.

• Collaborate across teams to deeply understand user needs and deliver revolutionary solutions.

• Influence company-wide decisions and have a say in what we build and how we build it.

Fully qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA or ACCA) with at least 2 years of post-qualification experience. Hands-on approach with strong attention to detail and sharp numerical acumen. Proven problem-solver who thrives under pressure and manages competing priorities effectively. Solid experience of core finance processes, reconciliations, and controls - including month-end close, statutory reporting, and VAT. Proficient excel user, financial modelling experience is considered a plus. Proven experience with finance systems. Experience working with external specialists and advisers on finance matters. A collaborative mindset and a drive to solve challenging, real-world problems. Genuine excitement about reshaping the rental industry through innovative solutions. Experience in a start-up or scale-up would be beneficial.
