About the RoleThe successful candidate will work directly with the CFO, taking significant responsibility for the company's financial management and reporting. This part-time position (2 days per week) offers an exceptional opportunity for an experienced finance professional seeking a role with substantial influence and flexibility.
Finance Manager Responsibilities:- Develop and deliver comprehensive monthly management accounts with detailed variance analysis and reporting packs
- Conduct thorough revenue analysis following completion of the billing cycle
- Take full ownership of the billing process, ensuring accurate revenue recognition
- Manage accruals, prepayments and deferred revenue with meticulous attention to journal entries
- Oversee the company payroll process, including journal postings and bank payments
- Monitor contractor reconciliations and payments against budgetary constraints
- Provide detailed monthly revenue analysis with insightful commentary
- Support department heads with budget preparation and management
- Direct all aspects of credit control, collaborating with client account managers as required
- Supervise the Finance Assistant, providing appropriate training and development
- Maintain effective cash flow management procedures
- Administer payroll and pension arrangements
- Maintain comprehensive asset register documentation
- Prepare and submit PAYE, Corporation Tax and VAT returns accurately and punctually
- Undertake additional financial projects as directed by the CFO
Finance Manager Requirements:- Minimum AAT Level 4 qualification
- 4-5 years' previous experience at Finance Manager level
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal and organisational capabilities
- Proven ability to maintain accuracy under pressure while meeting crucial deadlines
- Advanced computer literacy, particularly in Quickbooks (or similar accounting software)
- Intermediate or higher proficiency in Excel
- Experience in the technology sector (advantageous but not essential)
- Professional approach with uncompromising commitment to confidentiality
- Cooperative attitude towards supporting internal stakeholders
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently
Benefits:- Competitive salary of £40,000-£45,000 pro rata (depending on experience)
- Generous holiday allowance starting at 28 days per annum (pro rata), increasing by one day annually to maximum of 33 days
