Working closely with an experienced founding team and Finance Director, this is a hands-on role suited to a finance professional who is comfortable operating in a fast paced environment and wants to make a real impact. You'll play a central role in shaping the operational finance function as the company transitions from early-stage start-up to international scale-up.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to step up, take ownership, and grow with the business. Reporting into an experienced and engaged Finance Director and mentor, this is a genuine path for career progression as the business evolves.

Initial responsibilities include:

  • Preparing timely monthly management accounts and insightful variance analysis
  • Leading budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Managing payroll, working capital, and cash flow
  • Ensuring accurate, contract-aligned billing an robust internal controls
  • Supporting statutory reporting, audit readiness, and R&D tax credit claims
  • Supervising a Finance Administrator
  • Building and integrating scalable financial systems across multi-entity, multi-currency operations
  • Supporting investors reporting, fundraising processes, and financial modelling
  • Collaborating cross-functionally to define KPIs and improve business performance

The Candidate

You'll be fully qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent experience) with strong management accounting experience and a background in a high-growth or start-up environment.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Is confident running the day-to-day finance function (AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations)
  • Understands cash flow dynamics and working capital management in a scaling business
  • Has experience with multi-entity, multi-currency reporting
  • Is proficient in Xero, Excel (including modelling), and familiar with BI tools like PowerBI or Tableau

You will be able to translate financial data into clear, actionable insights, be comfortable working closely with non-finance stakeholders and have a continuous improvement mindset.

You'll be supported by a finance administrator and a leadership team that understands the value of finance as a driver for growth - not just a reporting function.
