Job summary

The ONE Group in Corby is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join a growing SME based in Corby, Northamptonshire. This is a hands-on, commercially focused role working with senior leadership to strengthen financial planning and support decisions that impact profitability and cash generation.

You will lead cashflow planning, budgeting, payroll support, VAT/HMRC compliance and monthly management accounts, while driving improvements in financial controls and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Finance Manager role or similar.
• Strong cashflow forecasting, budgeting and financial planning knowledge.
• Experience in preparing management accounts and financial reports.
• Payroll administration, VAT returns and HMRC compliance knowledge.
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Manage cashflow planning, forecasting and ongoing monitoring.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and wider financial planning activities.
• Support the preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Support payroll processes and HMRC compliance.
• Prepare VAT returns, reconciliations, accruals and prepayments.
• Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities for cost savings and improved efficiency.
• Provide financial insight to support strategic planning and commercial decision-making.
• Produce accurate financial reports, analysis and KPI information.
• Work with Supply Chain, Operations and Stock Management to improve working capital and stock control.
• Maintain strong financial controls and processes across the business.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and support external audits.
• Support and develop the existing finance team, fostering a positive environment.
• Identify opportunities to improve existing finance processes and challenge inefficiencies.

Salary: £38,000 - £48,000, DOE

Location: Corby, Northamptonshire

The Accountancy & Finance Division at The ONE Group is supporting a growing SME business based in Corby to recruit for an experienced Finance Manager. This is a hands‑on, commercially focused position where you will work closely with senior leadership and teams across the business, helping to strengthen financial planning, improve processes and support decisions that positively impact profitability, cash generation and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous experience as a Finance Manager or in a similar finance position.
• Strong knowledge of cashflow forecasting, budgeting and financial planning.
• Experience preparing management accounts and financial reports.
• Knowledge of payroll administration, VAT returns and HMRC compliance.
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence using financial software.
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to understand the wider impact of financial decisions.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritise effectively.
• Proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.
• Comfortable working in a growing SME environment.
• Commercially minded, organised and detail-focused.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions.
