Job summary

A growing, product led SME in Cambridge is searching for a Finance Manager to take ownership of the finance function. You'll prepare management accounts, manage cashflow, and oversee financial controls. Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience in finance within an SME setting, be qualified or part-qualified, and possess strong Excel skills. Enjoy a hybrid work model and a salary of up to £50,000, depending on experience. This position allows you to make a real impact in a fast-moving business.

• Preparing monthly management accounts with analysis and commentary.

• Working closely with operational teams to understand costs and margins.
• Supporting year-end and liaising with external accountants.
• Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes and reporting.
• Overseeing and signing off payroll.

Job description

The ONE Group are partnering with a growing, product led SME who are located north of Cambridge, to recruit a hands on Finance Manager. This is a brilliant opportunity to step into a standalone role with real ownership, where you’ll play a key part in shaping how finance supports a fast-moving and ambitious business.

Reporting directly to the Director, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the finance function while working closely with the wider business to provide clear reporting, insight and support as the company continues to grow. It’s a role where you can genuinely make the function your own, improving processes, strengthening reporting and helping the business make confident commercial decisions.

Key responsibilities

You’ll have experience in a hands-on finance role, ideally within an SME environment, and enjoy taking ownership across the full finance cycle. Candidates may be qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience, with strong Excel skills and a proactive mindset.

You’ll also benefit from hybrid working, with the flexibility to work two days from home and three days in the office. The role is offering a salary of up to £50,000, depending on experience.
