Job summary

Control Risks Group is seeking a Finance Manager for its Shared Service Centre in Cardiff. The role focuses on ensuring timely, accurate processing of financial transactions and robust controls in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance, 5+ years in finance operations, and strong ERP and Excel skills. ACCA/ACA is a plus. You will work closely with multiple departments to drive financial operations and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. ACCA/ACA is beneficial.
• 5+ years in a finance operations role, preferably in a shared service centre.
• Strong understanding of key finance processes and systems, including ERP and MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the general ledger and ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes with reconciliations, journal entries and financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate intercompany reconciliations and month-end timelines.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Manager to join our dynamic Shared Service Centre team. This individual will play a key role in the execution of critical finance processes, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of financial transactions while adhering to established procedures and controls.

The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. They will be a team player with excellent communication skills and a desire to learn and grow within a fast-paced shared service environment.

What You’ll Do:

• Oversee the general ledger, ensuring the accuracy, timeliness and integrity of financial records in line with finance Service Level Agreements (e.g., SLAs)
• Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations (e.g., define process and timeline for reconciling intercompany transactions between regions during month end).

Who You Are:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. (ACCA/ACA etc.. is nice to have)
• 5+ years of experience in a finance operations role, preferably within a shared service centre environment.
• Strong understanding of key finance processes and systems.
• Strong understanding of ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
