Job summary

Pure Resourcing Solutions Limited is supporting a local charity in Cambridge to recruit a Finance Manager on a 9 month contract. The role reports to the CFO and leads a small team of 3, ensuring smooth daily finance operations and timely reporting.

Hybrid working and parking are available, with flexible start and finish times. The successful candidate will manage month-end, assist with audits, prepare UK & Ireland statutory accounts, ensure VAT compliance, and approve payments.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant with proven experience in day-to-day finance operations.
• Strong people management skills and ability to handle multiple deadlines.
• Experience in a charity environment is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage the monthly accounting cycle for all entities and close month-end.
• Support the annual group audit and coordinate with external auditors.
• Collaborate with FP&A to ensure timely reporting.
• Prepare statutory accounts for the UK and Ireland.
• Ensure VAT compliance and oversee the payment run.
• Lead a team of 3 Accounts Assistants and oversee workload.

Job description

We are supporting a local charity on the recruitment of a Finance Manager for a 9 month contract. This role is based in Cambridge and offers parking and hybrid working, they also have flexibility on start and finish times.

Reporting into the CFO this role will be responsible for a small finance team of 3 and will ensure the smooth running of the day to day finance operations -

• Manage the monthly accounting cycle for all group entities, including month end procedures
• Support with the annual audit for the group
• Work closely with the FP&A Manager to ensure timely reporting
• Prepare the statutory accounts for the UK and Ireland
• Ensure effective tax management and compliance including VAT
• Work with the team to facilitate the payment run and be the first approver for all payments.
• Manage a team of 3 Accounts Assistants.

You must be a qualified Accountant with proven experience in the above duties, you must also have strong people management skills. Experience of working in a charity is not essential however you must be comfortable managing your own workload and working to tight deadlines.
