Virtual Hire Staffing is recruiting a Finance Manager for a Brentford-based, office-based role within a construction services business. The role leads the day-to-day finance function, reporting to the Finance Director, with immediate start available and a salary of £55,000–£60,000 plus benefits.

The ideal candidate will manage a finance team, oversee month-end close, payroll, invoicing and supplier payments, and ensure VAT, PAYE, CIS, and Corporation Tax obligations are met on time.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in a Finance Manager or senior role.
• Experience leading and developing a finance team.
• Proven ability to produce monthly management accounts and close processes.
• Confident VAT, PAYE and CIS compliance.
• Strong cash flow, budgeting and forecasting skills.
• Advanced Excel; Sage experience advantageous.
• ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified or QBE (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop the finance team.
• Produce accurate monthly management accounts and departmental reporting.
• Ensure monthly balance sheet reconciliations are completed.
• Oversee weekly payroll, client invoicing and supplier payments.

• Manage bank reconciliations, cash flow and the invoice discounting facility.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Assist with year-end accounts and external audits.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and hire purchase schedules.
• Support the Finance Director with process improvements and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

About You

• At least two years' experience as a Finance Manager or in a similar senior finance leadership role.
• Proven experience managing and developing a finance team.
• Strong experience producing monthly management accounts and managing month‑end/year‑end close.
• Confident overseeing VAT, PAYE and CIS compliance.
• Strong cash flow, budgeting and forecasting experience.
• Advanced Excel skills; Sage accounting software experience is advantageous.
• ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified, part‑qualified, or Qualified by Experience (QBE).
