Job summary

Axon Moore partners with a well‑established international manufacturing business to appoint a hands‑on Finance Manager in Rochdale. You will lead the full finance function and manage a small, high‑performing team, reporting to the CFO.

The role focuses on financial reporting, budgeting, cashflow management and continuous improvement across the finance function, with strong stakeholder engagement and a drive for accuracy.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (desirable).
• Manufacturing experience desirable.
• Experience leading or mentoring a finance team (essential).
• Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Navision would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of imports/exports would be beneficial.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A proactive approach with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet tight reporting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a finance team of 6 direct reports.
• Oversee the end-to-end finance function, ensuring the smooth running of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and cashflow management.
• Take ownership of month-end and year-end processes, delivering accurate and timely reporting to Group.
• Prepare and present monthly financial reports, including P&L, Balance Sheet, operational reporting and weekly flash reports.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, cost centre reviews and business partnering with operational stakeholders.
• Oversee reconciliations, intercompany transactions, UK & Ireland VAT returns and statutory reporting.
• Monitor daily cashflow, approve payments and oversee supplier and customer account management.
• Support pricing and costing analysis, investigating variances and providing commercial insight.
• Present financial performance to the Senior Management Team and support strategic decision-making.
• Drive process improvements and enhance internal financial reporting.
• Build strong relationships across Finance, Sales, Customer Care, HR and the wider Group.

Axon Moore have exclusively partnered with a well established international manufacturing business who are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join their team on a full time permanent basis. This is a hands‑on leadership role, offering responsibility for the full finance function while managing a small, high‑performing team.

Working closely with the CFO and senior leadership team, you'll play a key role in financial reporting, business partnering, budgeting, cashflow management and driving continuous improvement across the finance function.

About You
