Job summary

Niyaa People Ltd in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Financial Ledger Officer to support accurate processing, reconciliations and month-end tasks within a busy Finance team.

This 12-month fixed-term contract offers a salary of £29,500–£31,500 and an opportunity to develop experience within the social housing sector, handling ledgers, payments and supplier queries. Strong Excel skills and experience with finance systems are desirable.

Qualifications

• AAT Level 4 or equivalent technical knowledge.
• Previous finance or accounts experience.
• Good understanding of accounting principles.
• Strong numerical, analytical and reconciliation skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with finance systems, ideally Clear Books and Sage Intacct.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
• Social housing experience would be desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining accurate financial records and nominal coding.
• Completing daily bank reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.
• Processing supplier invoices, purchase orders and credit notes.
• Supporting weekly payment runs and month-end processes.
• Managing supplier and customer accounts and Direct Debits.
• Completing aged debtor, creditor and supplier statement reconciliations.
• Using Excel to analyse and reconcile financial information.
• Managing finance queries and resolving payment issues.
• Maintaining petty cash and processing credit card transactions.
• Handling confidential financial information appropriately.
• Supporting the wider Finance team with ad-hoc duties.
