What does the average day look like?
This is a varied role where no two days are the same. From supporting the delivery of finance learning programmes and events to creating engaging communications, there is always plenty going on.
A typical day could involve coordinating programme activity, managing participant queries, producing communications for SharePoint, Viva Engage and email, and working with suppliers, stakeholders and guest speakers to keep initiatives on track. There will also be opportunities to develop event materials, edit content, photos and videos, monitor programme budgets, and review engagement data to help improve future learning experiences.
Working closely with colleagues across Network Rail and the wider rail industry, this role plays a key part in promoting learning, development and professional growth within the finance community.
A little bit about the team...
You’ll be joining a close-knit team of around 10 colleagues who support learning and development across the finance community. While the core team is small, the reach of the role is much wider, working with finance professionals across Network Rail and the wider rail industry.
It’s a collaborative and supportive environment, focused on delivering high-quality development programmes, conferences and professional learning opportunities. The team works closely with a broad range of stakeholders, making it a great opportunity to build relationships, gain exposure across the business and develop new skills.

Who are we looking for?

Experience in learning and development, events or communications would be valuable, along with the ability to create engaging content and coordinate activities effectively.
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent time management skills and a customer-focused approach. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who is eager to learn, keen to try something different and excited by the opportunity to develop their skills while supporting learning and development across the finance community.
