Job summary

Veolia seeks a finance leader for the South Downs contract, delivering monthly reporting, budgeting, and statutory accounts. You will steer a small team, partner with operations, and ensure strong financial governance across contracts.

You will work within a hybrid setup from Newhaven, aligning with the Treatment South Finance team to drive performance and strategic value for the business.

Qualifications

• Significant post-qualified finance experience and cross-functional partnering.
• Proven leadership of a small team and performance reviews.
• Strong ERP and data handling skills with Office suite proficiency.
• Experience with Workday and SAP systems is preferred.
• Excellent presentation, communication and organizational abilities.
• Strategic planning and business partnering for operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial reporting and control for the South Downs contract.
• Manage a team of three (1 qualified accountant, 2 technicians).
• Set objectives, monitor performance and conduct reviews.
• Prepare monthly management accounts with analysis and variances.
• Support budgeting/forecasting with site operations.
• Oversee statutory accounts and liaise with auditors.
• Ensure contracts/depot compliance with financial policies.
