Job summary

Müller Milk & Ingredients in the UK is offering a 13-month Finance Internship located in a hybrid setup (Manchester/Market Drayton). You will join the Finance team to deliver timely, accurate financial insights and learn how financial reporting supports business decisions.

The role is designed for university students seeking hands-on experience in a fast-paced FMCG environment, with development in technical, analytical and collaboration skills throughout the placement year.

Qualifications

• University students on track to achieve a 2:1 or above.
• Proven numeracy and analytical thinking with data-driven insights.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to work in a hybrid finance placement.

Responsibilities

• Financial reporting: Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly finance reports.
• KPI reporting: Prepare and distribute reporting analysis and insight into key operational performance measures.
• Month-end processes: Assist with journal preparation and posting, stock reconciliations, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Management accounts liaison: Work closely with the management accounts team to ensure accurate customer performance reporting.
• Consolidation and reporting: Support the consolidation and reporting of key finance metrics, such as customer margins and pricing adjustments.
• Collaborative group projects: Work alongside other placement students on a group project.

What you'll be doing:

Müller is seeking motivated and talented university students to join our Finance team for a 13-month industrial placement.

Key tasks & responsibilities include:

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly finance reports to support informed business decisions.
• KPI Reporting - Prepare and distribute reporting analysis and insight into key operational performance measures.

What we're looking for:

Müller is looking for analytical, numerically proficient students who are personable, outgoing, and capable of working both independently and within a tight‑knit team. We're seeking university students who are on track to achieve a 2:1 and above and are looking for a placement year role.

• Digital Literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Office and other digital tools.
• Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence held for at least one year.
• UK Residency: Eligibility to work in the UK (Please note this role is not eligible for sponsorship as the salary falls below the required threshold.)
