Fuse Energy is seeking a Finance Intern to work closely with the business on cost management and financial planning. You will own daily invoice reconciliations, build automated reporting pipelines and contribute to cost optimization initiatives in a fast-paced, high‑growth energy startup environment.

You will collaborate across operations, deals and finance, gaining exposure to P&L, balance sheet and cash flow forecasting, with opportunities to secure a full-time role after graduation.

Competenze

• Final-year student or recent graduate in engineering, maths or another STEM discipline.
• Very strong first-principles thinking.
• Comfortable in a fast, ambiguous, high‑intensity environment.
• Analytical, structured and proactive, with ownership mentality.
• Genuine interest in either operations/process or deals/financing track.
• Strong financial modelling and Excel skills.
• Bonus: prior internship in banking/investing/consulting/accounting/startup finance; for Corporate Finance, exposure to M&A; for Business Operations, coding/process automation.

As a Finance Intern you'll do real work from day one, alongside a team that came from top banks, funds and startups. This isn't a back-office finance team: we sit right next to the business, across operations, deals and everything in between. You'll get rare ownership and exposure for an internship, and a real chance to earn a full-time seat. The internship runs as two tracks: Business Operations or Corporate Finance. As we hire globally, benefits vary by location.

Responsibilities

• Cost: Take ownership of daily invoice reconciliations, investigating discrepancies, understanding the drivers behind business expenditure and benchmarking costs to ensure the business is securing the best possible deals. Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve commercial terms and drive greater efficiency across the business. Alongside this, contribute to wider projects focused on cost optimisation, working closely with the strategy, M&A and finance systems teams. Take a proactive and creative approach to problem-solving, thinking outside the box and taking ownership of challenges and opportunities as they arise
• Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Take ownership of daily bank reconciliations, matching invoices against the general ledger to ensure accuracy and consistency across financial records. Drive the development of automations, scripts and internal tools to streamline treasury, accounting and reporting processes, reducing manual work and improving efficiency. Build and maintain the company's P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting, developing automated coding processes and reliable, largely self-running reporting pipelines. Help establish and strengthen the underlying data and systems infrastructure that supports the company's tax, audit and compliance requirements

Requirements

• Final-year student, or recent graduate, in engineering, maths or another STEM discipline
• Very strong first-principles thinking
• Comfortable in a fast, ambiguous, high-intensity environment
• Analytical, structured and proactive, someone who takes ownership and chases things down
• A genuine interest in the track you're applying for, whether operations and process or deals and financing
• Strong financial modelling and Excel skills
