Job summary

Siemens Energy invites ambitious undergraduates to join a global team for three 12-month placements across UK sites, gaining real business and finance experience while pursuing the CIMA qualification. You will rotate through diverse finance roles, report to the Financial Controller or Commercial Manager, and relocate as placements change.

Locations include Newcastle, Manchester, Aberdeen, with relocation support up to £1000 per move.

Qualifications

• Degree 2.1 or higher in a business-related subject (completed or on track).
• Strong communication across levels including customers, suppliers and external stakeholders.
• Be proactive, self-motivated with the ability to set priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Willing to relocate between key locations on a 12-monthly basis.

Working within our Business Units who manufacture, install and service some of the world’s largest construction projects, you will be provided with real experience and insight of a business and finance role, in a truly global company that “makes real what matters”.

If successful; you will report to the local Financial Controller or Commercial Manager. There will be three, 12-month rotational placements, that are all varied and challenging based across various locations (First year placements will be Newcastle, Manchester or Aberdeen and second/ third year placements could be Newcastle, Manchester, Aberdeen, Hull or Lincoln). It is important to stress that you will be required to relocate on a 12 monthly basis however; Siemens Energy will support, guide and provide up to £1000 to assist with each 12-monthly relocation.

How You’ll Make An Impact

As part of the program you will be fully funded through the CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) professional accountancy qualification that is recognised worldwide along with range of soft skill courses (such as project management and presentation skill) to ensure you are given the full toolbox to achieve your potential. Some of your key tasks will include but not be limited to:

• Monthly management reports and slides summarizing financial performance
• Project Accounting
• Commercial Project Management
• Budgeting/Forecasting

• Cost Controlling
• Accounting Ledger maintenance
• Ad-hoc reporting requirements

What You Bring

• A passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change
• A degree graded 2.1 or above in a relevant business-related subject (Either completed or on track to complete)
• Ability to communicate within a team and across all levels, including customers, suppliers, and external stakeholders
• Be proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to set priorities and manage to tight deadlines
• Be flexible, and 100% committed to moving between key locations on a 12-monthly basis
• Be willing to travel in order to develop a strong internal network.

You will have the opportunity to work in a wide variety of Finance, Accounting and Commercial teams working in and across all of our Business Units. This can range from companywide Accounting and Controlling, Business Unit Operational Controlling, Project Specific Commercial Roles and much more.
