Job summary

StrideUp is seeking a Finance Director to lead the Finance function through a phase of growth in a FCA-regulated fintech. You will own financial control, audits, and the expanding set of funding lines and structured finance arrangements, while partnering with the CEO on fundraising and investor relations.

You will report to the CEO, guide strategic capital decisions, and lead a finance team in a fast-paced, scale-up environment with strong governance and regulatory oversight.

Qualifications

• Must have ACA background with post-qualification experience in banking or specialist lending
• Strong technical expertise in structured finance and financial instruments
• Proven track record owning financial control and audit relationships in a regulated environment
• Experience leading and developing finance teams
• Regulatory awareness including capital adequacy, solvency and regulatory reporting

Responsibilities

• Sit on the Executive Committee (ExCo) and contribute to company-wide strategy
• Advise the CEO on funding strategy and capital structure for future activity
• Own the Group's financial statements and control environment
• Lead audits and manage external auditors for the Group
• Oversee funding lines and structured finance arrangements and SPV consolidation
• Support fundraising and investor relations with audited financials and technical accounting positions
• Lead and mentor the Finance team, setting standards and objectives
• Strengthen governance, internal controls and risk management as the business scales
• Ensure timely management reporting, planning and month-end close
• Maintain relationship with FCA and ensure regulatory compliance
